About Therapy

“Were it not for the leaping and twinkling of the soul,
man would rot away in his greatest passion, idleness.”
– Carl Jung

I focus on understanding your journey here and where you want to go. When you are with me, I’m not just here to listen. I’m here to help you navigate a way forward.

Our work together often starts by unraveling your narratives. We examine thought patterns and challenge their validity. Through this process, you can gain absolute clarity on the beliefs holding you back.

My focus is on understanding your present situation. “How did you arrive here?” “Where do you want to go from here?” Together, we will chart a path forward that aligns with your desired future.

How do we do that?

Great question! I love a good visual, so I often go to the whiteboard to illustrate ideas, brainstorm, and create visual representations of our discussion, your thoughts, and possible solutions.

I work to understand your thoughts and experiences so we can examine where opportunities for learning and growth lie. Sometimes, YOU take the marker and head to the whiteboard to illustrate your thinking, visualize solutions, and illustrate your thoughts. Our work is collaborative, hands-on, and engaging.

For adults, our work together may result in the realization of the limiting beliefs holding you back, improving anxiety and depression management by growing in coping strategies, moving through grief and loss, sorting through big decisions, or gaining clarity on career direction.

For teens, our work together could boost self-esteem and confidence, narrow down post-high school decisions, create insight into school avoidance motives, reduce overall life stress, and help with sometimes complex and complicated peer relationship issues.

I’m happy to sit shotgun as we embark on this journey of hope and healing. Life is complicated; sometimes, we must assemble a team to help. I feel so lucky to enter sacred places with my clients as a team member.

Life is so very short, and it goes by fast. Please don’t waste time suffering when we can find a way out together.

About Me

8b33fa79I’m a recovering corporate ladder climber.

I’m a mom of two, a wife, and a therapist! I spent 15 years in Corporate America, helping some of the biggest companies in the world solve complex business problems.

I LOVE the creativity and innovation behind working through challenges to find a way to a better future. That passion easily transfers from big business to therapy, where we get creative to find answers and solutions, charting a better path forward.

Because of an undeniable entrepreneurial spirit, I started my own business – twice. After completely changing careers, I wrestled with the loss of identity that comes with it and somehow made it out on the other side. You can, too!

Continuous self-development keeps me learning and growing. I do this partly, so I can share that wisdom with you. I lean heavily on my Christian faith in all things!

My passion is in assisting high achievers and inspired adolescents.

While working with these individuals, I help them establish boundaries, redefine success, and cultivate more profound and meaningful connections. Whether working one-on-one with individuals or teaching larger groups, I can apply a broad range of experiences and expertise to my message.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Board Certified Counselor who has worked with executives, business professionals, school administrators, entrepreneurs, adolescents, and children. For over 15 years, I offered strategic advisory to some of the largest companies in the world, and I now apply those same skills working with school district leaders and high-achieving business professionals. My combination of experiences makes me uniquely qualified to work with many populations.

Areas of specialty have included career navigation; decision-making; dealing with anxiety, stress, and depression; conflict resolution; life transitions; loss and grief; family matters; and parenting.

My therapeutic experience includes working with people as young as five years old to C-level executives and their teams. One thing I know for sure is that my clients feel empowered through our work together. Many have experienced a profound transformation. They can move forward with certainty and confidence. It is incredibly fulfilling knowing that our work together makes a meaningful difference in their lives.

Here are some of my qualifications.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, a National Board-Certified Counselor, and a member of the American Counseling Association and Kansas Counseling Association.

Some of my training includes Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Evidence-Based Treatment for Anxiety and Depression.

Peace and Joy

I find rest from work enjoying long summer days floating on the lake and listening to any and all types of music. All year long, I enjoy the peace that comes from resting by an outdoor fire or snuggled up inside watching movies with my family.

When life gets too hectic, I find recovery from stress by taking walks through my neighborhood or stopping by church to sit in silence or pray.

My greatest joy is traveling with my family. The look on their faces when they explore a new culture or scenery makes all this hard work worth it! That’s what keeps me going.
